Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE)

Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), located in Chengdu, is a national key university under the direct administration of the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE). It became a Project 211 University in 1995 and 985 Innovative Platform for Key Disciplines Project University in 2011. Since 2017, SWUFE has been listed among the first batch of national “Double First-Class” (world-class universities and first-class disciplines) university, and Applied Economics have been selected as the national “Double First-Class” discipline.

SWUFE currently is composed of 28 academic units offering 46 undergraduate programs, 100 masters programs (including 19 professional master programs), and 60 doctoral programs. The university has an enrolment of over 15300 full-time undergraduate students, 8500 master students, 1400 doctoral students, 1800 international students from 129 countries and regions, and over 170,000 alumni including outstanding leaders in finance, business and other sectors. SWUFE is recognized as “China’s Financial Talent Pool” and the think-tank in western China.
